Special regulation suggested for temporary workers with a 31.7.2018 deadline

At the beginning of February, the Federal Cabinet has introduced a limited special regulation for temporary workers until 31.7.2018 in the “Draft of a law to strengthen the career further education and insurance protection in unemployment insurance”. This proposed legislation is now the draft in a multi-month law-making phase in the German Bundestag which will then be voted on. The formulated objective is to generally improve the situation for temporary workers in unemployment beginning in August 2018.
State Minister of Culture Monika Grütters MdB said: “The regulation has great relevance for cultural politics, because especially employees in the cultural field will profit from it. It is often impossible for them to fulfill the prerequisites for ALG I due to the work market that is characterized by being heterogeneous, flexible and discontinuous.” (Source and quote: Pressemitteilung des Deutschen Kulturrates vom 3.2.2016)

Career: animal physical therapy

When you think of physical therapy, you tend to think only of people who could need it. For some people it may be new that physical therapy for animals such as horses, dogs and small animals also exists. General information on animal physical therapy such as its creation and expansion in Germany can be found here:
www.ift-info.de/ver… or: www.tiergestuetzte.org/

Dancers in transition who like animals, have an interest in medical anatomy and can imagine working as animal physical therapists should look into this career. It offers manifold opportunities.
As usual, even in this relatively recently developing career a specific education is necessary; it is possible to enter a program nationwide. Here a first example for training: you can start at any time at the ATM Academy for Animal Health in a 24-month course to become an animal physical therapist. According to the information on the ATM website, two aspects of the education are important:

• A state certified correspondence in anatomy, physiology and illness accompanied by
seminars and e-learning offers
• A specific physiotherapeutic course for theory and practice for the specific education in
manual abilities for future therapists

The cost of this education program is EUR 4,580.00 to 5,980.00. The internships take place in Bad Bramstedt; the theoretical part takes place throughout the country in different locations; one can choose which one to attend.

This educational program is certified by the IHK.
If financing is available from the Arbeitsagentur must be asked directly (pay attention to the Arbeitsagentur measure number, see Newsletter 02//2016).

Successor sought for a ballet school in Kaufbeuren

The former owner would like to pass on his ballet school in Kaufbeuren to a successor for age reasons in the course of this year. The dance school in Kaufbeuren has been established for decades and is 600 square meters large. It also has a café as well as costumes. Kaufbeuren has 42,000 inhabitants and is located between Lindau and Munich (source:www.wikipedia.de).
We would be glad to give as much advice as is possible in case (ex-)dancers in transition would like to take the opportunity to take over their own ballet school in southern Germany.
