Combining study with work or further education in your career

The trend to further education during your career or even part-time study could be an advantage for dancers who work irregularly. The biggest plus is the flexible time scheduling and often the modular structure that also allows for longer breaks if it’s necessary. Of course, self-responsibility increases as a result, but dancers know this situation well. The costs, which can be deducted from taxes, can be well estimated; this is a definite advantage for combining qualification measures with work. Unfortunately, costs are very extensively from one institution to another; the offers are very expansive.

There are numerous expert offers, also for sports management, health management or rehabilitation. With the respective keyword, www.hochschulkompass.de is a good place to start for further research.

Be inspired for your career

If you don’t really know what you want to do and what interests you have beyond dance or movement, you can get some inspiration from the following website: www.whatchado.com. You compare your own preferences and career experience with others, can follow their careers and find out what they like about their professional field and what would probably fit to you.

If you still need concrete counseling, Heike Scharpff (Dipl. Psychologist and project director) will gladly help your individually, free of charge and confidentially in a personal talk or on the phone, skype or e-mail.
