THANK YOU to our donors Christian and Sunhild Sutter!  On 4th of February 2017, Christian Sutter celebrated his 65th birthday at the Zeche Zollverein. Born in Essen, he and his wife Sunhild are some of the biggest supporters of culture and especially dance in Essen. Christian Sutter was one of the initiators of the “Kunstkäfig“ in Essen and of the Society of Friends and Supporters of the Foundation Zollverein e.V. Double congratulations to John Neumeier! John Neumeier, the chairman of the board of trustees, was awarded on 4th of February 2017 the prize for his life at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in the context of this year’s Prix de Lausanne. “The jury honors him for his inexhaustible commitment to the training of dancers and for his long-standing collaboration with the international dance competition Prix de Lausanne. The year 2016 in the chronological review of the TANZ Foundation March 2016 Sabrina Sadowska, founder and chairman of the TANZ Foundation, was awarded the medal of the Federal Republic of Germany by Federal President Joachim Gauck. The 7th Tanztheatertage in Hameln was opened with a BENEFITGALA for the TANZ Foundation. Ballet director Ricardo Fernando and Carla Silva had invited international soloists from different companies, and together with Ballett Hagen they presented a varied program with many acclaimed highlights. The Philippe-Braunschweig-Scholarships of the IOTPD 2016 The International Organization for the Transition of Professional Dancers (IOTPD), of which the Foundation DANCE –Transition Centre Germany is a member, has announced that three Philippe-Braunschweig-Scholarships of the IOTPD 2016 have been granted to Naiara Mendioroz, Mark Biocca and Tom de Jager. Naiara Mendioroz wants to build her future working with refugees, focusing particularly on women who experienced violence. Alexander J. Dubé, President rtd. of the Career Transition for Dancers (CTFD) Last month, the dance community lost one of their most dedicated transition experts. Alexander J. Dubé, born in Massachusetts, started out as a tap dancer and completed his dance education at the Robert Joffrey School of Ballett.
